The new BMW M2: bigger, more powerful, more mature and polarizing than ever before

The new BMW M2 represents an important chapter in the history of compact coupes, which began in 1973 with the BMW 2002 Turbo. It will be produced along with the new 2 Series Coupe at the BMW Group's Mexican plant in San Luis Potosí.

The design of the new M2 is punchy and polarizing, with a front end sporting a new interpretation of BMW's double kidney. The sides are cleaner, while squared-off air outlets are also the hallmark of the tail, where the eye-catching diffuser wraps the four split exhaust tips.

Confirmed under the bonnet of the new M2 is the familiar twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter straight-six, now boosted to an output of 460 hp and 550 Nm of torque without the aid of electrification.
