KTM X-Bow: the first racing car from the motorcycle manufacturer with a 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds

The KTM X-Bow was a very special and innovative car produced by the Austrian company KTM. It was the first car produced by the company, which is best known for the production of motorbikes.

The car was entirely designed by the Italian automotive company Dallara, which specialises in the design and production of racing cars.

The KTM X-Bow is a roofless roadster that focuses on lightness rather than power. The engine is a 4-cylinder 2.0 TFSI with 240 hp, placed in a mid-rear position. Thanks to its lightness and the power of this engine, the car manages to have a really high performance, with a top speed of 217 km/h and acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.9 seconds and from 0 to 160 km/h in 8.5 seconds.

A car with design aerodynamic
The KTM X-Bow was designed with a particular focus on its ability to generate aerodynamic load. At 100 km/h the car generates around 48 kg of load, while at 200 km/h this figure rises to 193 kg. The car can achieve lateral accelerations of up to 1.23g, as demonstrated in a test on a curve with a constant radius of 200 metres carried out at a speed of 178 km/h.

A performance brake system
The KTM X-Bow is equipped with a high quality braking system, with 305 mm discs manufactured by Brembo that allow the car to stop from 100 km/h to zero in just 33.1 metres. This also makes the car perform very well when braking, guaranteeing a high level of safety.

Guaranteed downforce
In order to generate even more downforce, the KTM X-Bow is equipped with a rear air extractor that provides downforce equivalent to 200 kg at 200 km/h. This system is particularly useful on circuits, where the car needs more stability.

A competition car also suitable for the road
The KTM X-Bow is a car designed primarily for track use, but thanks to its road homologation it can also be used in everyday life. At the same time, the car is equipped with all the features and performance necessary to compete at the highest level in competition.
