The innovative Lamborghini Islero GT coupe, a 300-hp 1960s masterpiece

Presented at the 1968 Geneva Motor Show, the Lamborghini Islero GT was a classic 2+2 three-box coupé with taut, clean lines, based on the mechanicals of the 400 GT, without any major modifications.

Its extreme stylistic simplicity and the simultaneous presence on the Lamborghini stand of the much more personal Espada, contributed to the Lamborghini Islero going almost unnoticed, and it did not arouse much enthusiasm.

The new 'bull' coupé was nevertheless comfortable, quiet and brilliant (thanks to 320 hp from the 4-litre V12), so much so that Ferruccio Lamborghini chose it as his personal car.
