The American market demands the SUV full size that can comfortably accommodate up to eight passengers.
And it is precisely this type of offering that the Toyota Grand Highlander is aimed at. This is the lengthened version of the already large Highlander (also sold in Europe), which debuted at the Chicago Auto Show.
The overall length of Toyota Grand Highlander comes in at 5.11 meters, an increase of 14 centimeters, while the width increases by 6 centimeters.
Three powertrain. The 265-hp 2.4 turbo-petrol with eight-speed automatic transmission (two- or four-wheel drive), 243-hp 2.5 full hybrid with Cvt transmission (two- or four-wheel drive), and the new 362-hp, 542 Nm 2.4 Hybrid Max with six-speed automatic transmission.

The eight-seat Grand Highlander is based on the same platform as the "regular" model, namely the TNGA-K modular platform, lengthened in its wheelbase by as much as 140 centimeters. The total length of the model comes in at 5.11 meters, an increase of 14 centimeters, while the width increases by 6 centimeters.
Toyota's goal was to make a third row of seats capable of accommodating adult passengers, who can count on 140 mm more legroom than on the "normal" Toyota Highlander.
The interior is completely new, with modern styling and all the features of the latest Toyota models, such as digital instrumentation and the large 12.3-inch touch screen in the center of the dashboard.
The trunk of the Toyota Grand Highlander offers a minimum capacity of 594 liters, which is more than 140 liters more than its smaller sibling Highlander. All three rows can, of course, count on cupholders (as many as 13, in total) and Usb-c charging sockets.
In the U.S. market, the Grand Highlander mounts three units under the hood. A 265-hp turbocharged 2.4 gasoline, available with 2 or 4-wheel drive and 8-speed automatic transmission. A 243-hp 2.5 full hybrid, with 2 or 4-wheel drive and 6-speed automatic transmission. The new 2.4 Hybrid Max with an impressive 362 hp and 542 Nm of torque mated to a six-speed automatic transmission.
The Toyota Grand Highlander is offered in the United States in three trim levels (XLE, Limited, Platinum), while there is currently no information available on whether it will also arrive in Europe.
