The Mercedes AMG GT 63 becomes a "beast" thanks to American tuning, 1196 hp and killer styling

The American tuner Renntech got its hands on one of the world's most popular sedans: the Mercedes AMG GT 63. The aerodynamic kit, made of carbon fibre, gives the car an aggressive look, but it is under the bonnet that the interesting work of the tuner is hidden.

New turbochargers, a high-pressure petrol pump and a sports exhaust system allow the saloon to unleash the power of 1196 hp and 1256 Nm of maximum torque, but only using 100 octane petrol.

This increases the cost of preparation to around 88,200 euros, but it is worth it to be able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach 160 km/h in 5.5 seconds.

The new design
Seen from the outside, the Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupé4 looks like a car ready for the track. The new design features, contained in the aerodynamic kit, make extensive use of carbon fibre. On the body, one notices the new splitter, small front wings, skirts, diffuser and an adjustable spoiler. In profile, the Renntech RPS 10.2 rims, 21" at the front and 22" at the rear, are appreciated.

The interventions
One has to look 'under the robe' and open the bonnet to discover all the details of the American tuner's work. The list of interventions included the installation of new high-performance turbochargers, the choice of a high-pressure petrol pump and the adoption of a sports exhaust system. The tuner has equipped the exhaust with an electronically controlled valve that, when needed, intervenes on the nature of the sound, adjusting it in accordance with noise pollution regulations.

Performance
After all these interventions, the Mercedes AMG GT 63 Coupé4 is able to unleash the power of 1196 hp and 1256 Nm of maximum torque, but only if 100-octane petrol is used. In the case of refuelling with 93 octane fuel, exploitable power becomes 965 hp and 1107 Nm, values that are still much higher than the base model. The performance benefits, allowing the Stuttgart saloon to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.5 seconds and reach 160 km/h in 5.5 seconds.
