Ford Explorer now 100% electric, a super SUV with 500 km range

Ford has unveiled its new mid-range electric SUV designed for the European market: it is called Explorer and measures 4,460 mm in length. It will fit into a market segment already occupied by the Volkswagen ID.4, Renault Megane E-Tech, Hyundai Ioniq 5 and the queen of the category, Tesla Model Y.

The new SUV will be built in the Cologne factory and developed on the Volkswagen-originated Meb platform. The styling, however, is completely different: boxy and muscular, inspired by off-road vehicles.

Ford has not yet announced the available engines, all electric, which according to rumours should be three. The batteries available should have a capacity of 52 or 77 kWh, with a maximum range of around 500 km.
