BMW X5 M and X6 M Competition, with restyling the powerful V8 is mild hybrid

BMW also unveiled the facelift of the BMW X5 M Competition and BMW X6 M Competition.

Update that introduces some aesthetic, electronic and engine innovations.

In particular, with the restyling, the V8 engine is updated with the introduction of the Mild Hybrid. For the time being, marketing details for the Italian market have not yet been announced.

Both SUVs accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and are capable of a top speed of 250 km/h

Time for updates
BMW X5 and X6 in the M Competition variant are offered with revised styling, updated technological and digital equipment, improved V8 engine with the introduction of a 48-volt mild-hybrid system.

The engine is the same
Engine specifications do not change. The overall power output remains 625 hp and the maximum torque 750 Nm. What does change is precisely the powertrain configuration. In fact, the 4.4-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that powers the two German SUVs, in addition to being slightly electrified with a 48-volt system, sports several upgrades on the inside.

What then changes in the powetrain
Reinforced crankshaft, upgraded turbochargers, cross-bank exhaust manifold. Also. New intake duct. An eight-speed M Steptronic transmission is offered to match on both models, which now benefits from shorter gears and quicker shifts.

Performance
Both SUVs accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, and are capable of reaching a top speed of 250 km/h (290 km/h with optional M Driver’s Package ).

There is the BMW Curved Display
Both SUVs from BMW come standard with 21-inch M alloy wheels at the front and 22-inch wheels at the rear. As for the interior, with the restyling came the well-known BMW Curved Display that consists of a 12.3-inch instrumentation screen and a 14.9-inch display for the infotainment system equipped with the platform iDrive 8.
