The Schuppan Porsche 962 CR is a supercar that was produced in a limited edition in the 1990s, based on the famous Porsche 962, a racing car that dominated endurance competition for many years.

The 962 CR featured an aerodynamic design, developed by the British designer Peter Stevens , which had also worked on the McLaren F1.

The car was built around a carbon fiber monocoque chassis, with a body also made of carbon fiber to reduce weight. The engine was a 3.3-liter twin-turbocharged six-cylinder capable of developing 600 hp at 7,000 rpm.

Vern Schuppan's project
Vern Schuppan, winner of the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1983, decided to develop a road-going version of the Porsche 962 after its retirement from racing. In cooperation with the parent company, Schuppan transformed the 962 from a competition car to a supercar for everyday use. The result was the 962 CR, an authentic racing car suitable for the road.
