Fisker Latigo: those 600 hp that didn't leave a mark

Henrik Fisker and Bernhard Koehler can draw on a wealth of experience in car construction.

And it is no coincidence: Fisker, a Danish designer, worked for a long time for Aston Martin and BMW, while his German colleague Koehler worked for Ford. The two thus created the Latigo, and it was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2005.

The technological basis for the Fisker Latigo is the BMW M6, the original form of which can now be seen with some difficulty.

But mismanagement was the cause of Fisker's failure.

Sustainability and care for the environment
Fisker Automotive was known for its commitment to sustainable and environmentally friendly solutions. The Fisker Latigo was no exception, using recycled and sustainable materials for the interior and bodywork. Furthermore, the Danish carmaker was working on the development of an electric version of the Latigo, once again demonstrating its commitment to promoting sustainable mobility. On 23 November 2013, however, Fisker filed for bankruptcy and on 17 February 2014, Fisker Automotive's technology and properties were taken over by the Chinese company Wanxiang for an amount of around 149 million euros, while the use of the brand name remained in the hands of the founder, who created a new company in 2016.
