In 1976 this creature Mercedes had a second career, combining with a 230 horsepower diesel engine. In his unusual capacity he set 9 speed records for diesel-powered cars, one of which was the peak of 322 km/h reached in Nardò in 1978. Then came a 500 horsepower V8 engine that allowed the car to touch 403.78 km/h.
